Democrats in Action, Dealing With Deficit

With Connecticut's budget deficit reaching an all-time high of $18.2 billion by the beginning of 2009, it's refreshing to observe the Democrat-controlled State Legislature hard at work fixing the problem. No one could ever claim the Democrats are anything but hard working, social servants of the People. Below is proof not only how important this issue is, but it also depicts their concentration and dedication to their constituents. During the long debates at the State Capitol, these two fine lawmakers were seen answering e-mails, and...

It's obvious how determined they are to achieve a balanced budget for their state. When asked about the photo, Republican Governor M. Jodi Rell quipped,"I think if they'd spend less time playing computer games and more time looking for spending cuts, the we would have been out of here a lot sooner." When Republican Tom Foley, who is running against long-time, embattled Chris Dodd, was asked about his reaction to the now infamous picture, he replied, "I was disheartened to see a Hartford Courant front page photo showing members of our Democratically-controlled legislature playing solitaire on their computers while debate was occurring on a new state budget that raises taxes and contains no net reduction in spending. This is not a time for the Democrats who control our legislature to be playing games with Connecticut's future. Our elected officials need to put away their computer toys and help working people by lowering taxes and keeping government spending down." I have a much better response to these lazy-ass democrats. Enjoy your time playing Solitaire, because when real work needs to be done, budgets balanced, and trust for our government restored, you'll be left playing with yourselves, all right. This isn't a job for leeches like you, and you've wasted your 15 minutes of fame playing with the money of every fine citizen of Connecticut.
