Defining Conservatism

Thomas Jefferson said, "Does the Government fear us? Or do we fear the government? When people fear the government, tyranny has found victory. The federal government is our servant, not our master!" And, "When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." Now most people will say, don't be silly. I don't fear our government. I think they're mostly morons, but fear? No. Ask yourself the same question on April 15th, whether you in fact fear your government. Don't pay your taxes, and see what happens to you. The fact is that we're so far from what our Founding Fathers wanted for us, they must be shedding bitter tears that all their sacrifices have brought their chosen people to this.

These brave, honorable men were in complete accordance that when the People see their government turn against them, when they become tyrannical dictators, it is the DUTY of the People to rebel against their oppressors. Our government has become a tyrant, both parties Now, perhaps we are less likely to take up arms against our government, despite the fact that this was the most significant purpose of the right to bear arms, but we have a very powerful weapon in the internet, and the chance to have our voices heard. Many people will say these beliefs are libertarian. Wrong. These are true Republicans. We as a party have just lost our way. It's time to FORCE our lawmakers to vote the way We the People demand. If they step out of line even once, and support legislation that goes against their constituents' desires, we are obligated to hold them responsible. It's at this time they must be voted out of office. Ask yourself whether your senators fear you at all. Are they concerned that there will be any negative consequences if they vote their personal conscience, and not yours? Do they believe you, the voter, have the power to remove them from their exalted position? If your answer is no to either, we the people aren't doing our jobs. Let's hold their feet to the fire; force them to answer to us! We pay their salaries, let's treat them like the civil servants they are, not the little kings and queens they have personally proclaimed themselves to be. When civil servants are living ridiculously wealthy lifestyles, while you their boss, struggle to make ends meet, it's time to either severely reprimand them, or knock them off their self-appointed thrones, by any means. If it means pulling them down and putting our boots on their proverbial necks, so be it. When Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety," he may have been seeing into the future. Because ladies and gentlemen, we have freely and willingly given up both. Until we force our government from the giant, menacing monster it has become, we don't deserve to call ourselves Americans. We will have given up our rights and freedoms, and the dream of those brave men who fought so valiantly will have been obliterated, lost to generations who will never remember what it meant to be free. Can you imagine your children, or perhaps theirs, never understanding that we were once as free as a people can be? Is this the terrifying legacy we want to leave them? With each law that our elected officials pass, with every penny they wastefully spend, with every vote they cast, they take away a little more of your freedom. The next time you see Old Glory waving in a breeze, take a moment to reflect what this country was founded on, not the horror we have all allowed it to become, and make the choice to take up arms against the tyranny of our oppressors, and our weapons shall be our words.
