In God, NOT Obama We Trust

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The beginning of the Declaration of Independence, clearly states that the rights of man are bestowed by our ‘Creator’, the Judeo-Christian God that has played an integral part in this country since its inception. The Founding Fathers were careful to keep a schism between church and state. Having just escaped the tyranny of monarchial mandated religion; they knew that the government must stay out of religious denomination and decree. However, the Founders were still able to interject Biblical morality into the documents that shaped this country. They knew that God was the ultimate bearer of liberty, He being our Creator gave us an individual spirit, never to be reliant or subservient to another man, but free as He intended.

Thomas Jefferson wrote:

"God who gave us life gave us liberty.  Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?"  He also wrote:  "Almighty God hath created the mind free.  ... All attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens...are a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of our religion.”

It is no surprise that countries that have sought to abolish religion, like Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, have all perished under that which God never intended- men behaving like gods.

I find it rather ironic that Barack Hussein Obama has decided to come forth and speak not only on behalf of a vastly Christian nation, and say ‘The United States is not a Christian nation', but also come forth and say that ISLAM has somehow played a role in the maturation of this country. I would really like someone to tell me, how in fact Islam has contributed to this country? I have read enough about Islam to know by in large it is a religion concocted by men to oppress women and propagate war. Middle Eastern countries ARE founded on Islamic values, and Sharia Law, which could account for the oppression and murderous tactics used by many in the region (and now infiltrating countries throughout the world).

I began this article with a background of why this country is in fact a Judeo-Christian nation, whether people like it or not, it is embedded in its precepts. Americans have been blessed by the founder’s wisdom and foresight to include our liberty giving Creator in the construction of their didactic documents. It seems this beautiful nation is traveling down the road that so many ill-fated nations have before, removing God is a sure way to give fallible men the power to commandeer our inalienable rights- Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I leave with a quote from Abraham Lincoln, a man that the current president claims to admire, and wishes to emulate, if there is one thing to emulate Barack, let it be Abe’s faith-
