Gun Grabbing Politicians and Their Fear of the American People
Most people who know me will tell you I'm not a religious person. It isn't because I don't believe in God. It's because I don't agree with organized religion. I find my spirituality in other places. My favorite place is a gun range just outside of Las Vegas. With the canyons all around, and Red Rock over my shoulder, I listen to the echo of the shots. It crackles through the canyons and races around you like thunder. A 50 caliber rifle shot on that range invokes the same feelings as a fighter jet flying overhead.
This is the sound of freedom, and to me, akin to the sermon of a priest or preacher for a churchgoer. Some will say it’s sacrilegious, but I don’t begrudge other people their religion, and I don’t make an issue of other people’s faith. This just happens to be mine. My way to get away from the hustle of the city, get outside, and enjoy the sun on my face and the breeze through my hair. Admittedly, it’s usually with an AK 47 on my shoulder or a 357 in my hand, but to me, it’s no different than those who get up Sunday morning, get dressed, and attend church. I just find God in those canyons, not in a cathedral.
But now we’re all facing an administration who, for one stated reason or another, is making a grab for our weapons. Let’s examine this horrendous new bill HR 45, Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. This bill, which will pass without a murmur of dissent, and your rights, as laid down by our Founding Fathers, will be buried in a grave marked “United States of America”. What this bill boils down to, is the federal government will make is so difficult for you to own weapons, they’re counting on you to give up your rights without a fight. Federal ID’s, fingerprints, accessing medical records, mandatory classes, special registration, and a whole plethora of ridiculous items.
Sounds like Mexico. Let’s examine our neighbors to the south, and their demand that the U.S. stanch the flow of weapons crossing the border into the hands of drug traffickers.
Mexico has gun laws that guarantee the criminals own them, and the law abiding citizens are sitting ducks; targets for the killers roaming the lawless streets. In order to legally own a gun in Mexico, a citizen must petition the Defense Department, be subjected to incredible background checks, and purchase their weapons from the Defense department themselves. Forget purchasing guns that actually can protect them. These are usually low-caliber handguns that amount to pea shooters, while the criminals are arming themselves with everything from hang grenades to assault rifles. In addition, once this gun is purchased from the Mexican government, it can’t be transported anywhere. They must remain at the address on the petitioner’s application. Sounds damn near like what our government is trying shove down our throats. Has it worked in Mexico? Nope, and it won’t work here.
Now the Mexican government is demanding that we, the United States, enact tougher gun laws to protect Mexico from weapons that make their way south, and into the hands of their notorious drug traffickers. Which in itself is odd. We offered to build a wall to keep people out of our country illegally, remember? It would have helped to keep weapons out of their country as well. But the Mexican government threw such a temper tantrum, it certainly swayed our lawmakers into practically abandoning the idea to complete it. Now why would Mexico do that? If they’re so concerned about their citizens' safety, why oppose this wall? Answer: Because they don’t give a crap about their citizens. They just want the money illegals in the U.S. send home to bolster their economy. Calderone, we’ll be willing to stanch the flow of illegal weapons into Mexico, as soon as you do the same for illegals using our common border as an illegal entry into our country. All this makes you want to question why our own government is attempting the same maneuver regarding their citizens' right to bear arms. Let’s examine that right now.
Let me flat out say, that anyone who believes their government is attempting to do the best for them, and that they actually care, let me disabuse you of that notion right now. They couldn’t care any less about you if you were a fly they swatted in one of their mansions. You’re nothing but a statistic, and hell, they don’t even care anymore if their votes are in direct opposition to the desires of their constituents. That being said, I suspect most people already know that (except perhaps those who worship at the altar of Obama, but there is no hope for them, so I won’t even bother).
According to a 1997 Department of Justice survey of State Prison Inmates who were incarcerated for weapons related charges, more than 80% were illegal weapons. Which just brings us to:
Why is our government so opposed to the rights laid down by our Founding Fathers with regards to the rights of their people to legally own guns? Is it because they’re so concerned with your safety that they feel the need to revamp our Constitution? Listen, they couldn’t care less whether you draw your last breath in bed or on the street. You’re nothing but a statistic to them; a way to earn more votes, and bankroll their lifestyle.
The reason the government is so keen to remove the legal weapons from its citizens, is not for your safety, but theirs. The purpose of our right to bear arms, was a guarantee that We the People would have the means to remove a corrupt government from its position of power, and implement a new government to represent us. Right now, these people know they’re the most corrupt politicians in the history of this country, and these gun grabbing politicians are terrified of what We the People will do. Rightly so, too.

Five Finger Shoes
The marketed primary use for the Five Finger Shoes Trek is for off-road trail running. The tougher sole will suit many other uses where a thicker more protective sole is preferred. The fit is extremely snug. The forefoot is well protected against sharp objects while still providing decent ground-feel. It is very likely that many that use FiveFingers products for sports of any kind may find the extra protection preferable to the regular thin-soled Five Fingers Shoes. Due to the new sole design and the more water resistant leather upper, the Treks are better suited for wet weather conditions than any other FiveFingers model. Although many of the FiveFingers products are used as “water shoes” the Treks design may not be as well-suited for in-water use.
