Liberals: Sympathy for a Breast Cancer Survivor

Kerrie's picture

Carly Fiorina's campaign issued a statement today, explaining that Ms. Fiorina has been hospitalized due to an infection. Ms. Fiorina had reconstructive surgery after successfully beating breast cancer, and now has an infection that has landed her in the hospital for antibiotic treatment.

Naturally, the story appeared on every major news source, including that leftist rag CNN. Since liberals scream how tolerant they always are, I assumed the comments from them would be something along the lines of, "get well soon," without any mention of politics. After all, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and liberals say they're the champions of women's rights/health/equality.

So let's examine some of these comments:

ThinkAgain

"Cynical me ... I just can't help but wonder if this isn't a stunt to remind everyone about her battle with cancer and to try to get the female sympathy vote ... I mean, really, she was admitted to a hospital to receive antiobiotics? They couldn't just give her a couple heavy-duty shots of antibiotics in her doctor's office and send her home with a prescription?

If she was that ill with an infection, she would have been really dragging and feeling pretty lousy for the last couple days ...I'm just saying this sounds fishy to me ..."

who cares!

"My mother had breast cancer and she fought til the day she died, no one put her on a platform outside of her family!

Nice try Fioriona, you still don't have my vote! Maybe god's trying to send you republicans a message!"

rick

"great campaign move"

scarey

"Wow, talk about timing! And, it IS nice that she can afford the treatment and the reconstructive surgery that she would so willingly deny those of us without copious health care coverage or private funds ... Just sayin'!"

diridi

"how idiotic!!!! Is this a news???? lot of people are in Hospital....she is one of them....Go for Dems....o.k"

Marie MD

"At least she won't have to worry about paying for her health care unlike those Americans whose jobs she sent overseas who still don't have jobs and/or healthcare."

Sniffit

"Typical of a republican. cosmetic surgery"

Niel

"Fiorina, get well soon but I hope this does not garner sympathy votes. I doubt action by Republicans."

Todd

"But did she have to kill HP in the process?"

John Smith

"Sympathy ploy by Fiorina. If there's nothing wrong why is she there? She knows the value of those breast cancer voters. Maybe she should drop out."

Anonymous

"I wish her well, however why is she hospitalized for anit-biotics? There is either something more to this or she is using her illness as a campaign ploy. Sorry, but now days anything is possible"

Ain'tNoPlanB

"Desperate times call for desperate measures. This woman still let's her boobs do all the magic. She's a snake trying to gather the sympathy vote. I'm not buying it. If I am wrong, then I am correct in saying that she's physically unfit for the job – the election isn't even over. Boxer (the lesser of 2 evils) still gets my vote. This "Leona Helmsley re-incarnate" needs to find another company to leave in ruins and get the hell out of Sacramento."

"While I'm certainly NOT going to vote for her, I am not going to wish her bad health either. I guess the stress over losing got to her."

Video Guy

"I hope she is out and back spreading misinformation real soon. I also worry if she has Health Insurance to cover this, she is unemployed."

Otto

"How nice that she's got fantastic health insurance that will pay for this inpatient help. So sad she's paying millions for the ability to deny so many others that help."

"Perfect campaign ploy: exactly 1 week before the election, expose the candidate as "hospitalized" to generate sympathy votes... all centered around her fight with breast cancer, of course, which she, "like millions of women", have battled against... generating concern while painting a "battle/fight"... overcome quickly, mind you, so as not to create doubt in voters' minds as to a short life expectancy. Nice touch on the part of the campaign manager."

Robert

"I hope you are OK Carly and I hope you can return home and be happy there for the rest of your days. AT HOME."

This list could literally go on and on, so I will end it here, and allow you to all bask in the warmth that is liberal tolerance. Don't you just feel the love?
