Heretic Deep Thoughts: RWN's 20 Hottest Conservative Women in New Media
It simply amazes me the amount of interest that is sparked when a group of men decide to compile a list of women they find attractive. One such list was John Hawkins’s rightwingnews.com second annual hottest conservative women in the new media. Unbeknownst to us, Kerrie and I were included in the 58 women who John selected for a panel of judges to well, judge. Lo and behold we made the cut, and from 58 became the final 20. Were we flattered? Sure. Do we feel like we are God’s gift to the human race because a group of a few men found us attractive? Heck no. What does fluff our feathers a bit is that through our hard work, and passion for furthering the conservative movement in the past two years, we somehow made a name for ourselves as a legitimate force within the internet mediasphere. Yes indeed, THAT, feels good. As for all the naysayers who said, who the hell are they? XYZ has a butter face and does not belong on the list, Mary so and so from foxnews is waaaaay better looking, well it really doesn’t faze us, we are just happy to be recognized for what we do (and in my humble opinion <not> if we weren’t all making even an infinitesimal impact in this country, we would not have been included).
As for all the pseudo-analytical, “I am above all this superficial crap they call attractiveness”, sanctimonious liberals that had fun infiltrating the comment section (and who always seem to take umbrage with the fact that fox has pretty foxy ladies delivering their message), please continue to cry in the corner with your fake righteous indignation. You’re telling me that you wouldn’t rather get your dose of current events from a woman who wears make-up and shaves her legs? It’s not patriarchy, it’s not part of some ancient conspiracy in which men pat women on the head and said you’re pretty, time to make me a sammich, nope it’s life. When you go to a store to buy a head of lettuce, do you pick the one that is brown and wilted and looks like a cab driver sat on it? Or do you buy the fresh head of lettuce that is green and looks like it’s straight out of a hidden valley ranch commercial? Methinks the latter. See we’re humans, and humans are drawn to beauty, symmetry, aesthetics, whatever label you want to put on it. What conservatives understand, and understand so well, is that part of our effectiveness in delivering our message is that we understand it’s part of a package, one that people are drawn to. So yes that means washing our hair, oooh putting on some make-up, and maybe even some clothes that don’t look like they came out of the peace corps bin. My words may sound harsh, but they are true. We listen to liberals bark 24/7 at what stupid, superficial people we are. Well jokes on you, we are figured out a way to get our message out there and actually get people to take notice. So here’s to all those hot and fiercely intelligent women out there, keep it up ladies, you’ve got a job to do, and you do it so well ;)
